Roudaki Decoration Workshop

The decor workshop being situated on the North-Eastern side of Vahdat Hall’s parking lot in an area of 360 square meters was opened simul­taneous with the inauguration of 29th Fajr Inter­national Theater Festival in January 2011(Bahman 1389)

This workshop is , responsible for construction and installation of deCor for theater and cinema bands. Rudaki Foundation has four active work­shops: blacksmith, tailoring, carpentry and assem­bly hall. Tailoring and carpentry workshops are constructed in a 12 x 6 meters and assembly hall with dimensions of 12 x 12 meters.

Technical, efficient and professional entities are in charge of the carpentry, blacksmith and tailor­ing workshops and young and knowledgeable in­dividuals are busy fashioning decor.

Rudaki Foundation’s Art Training Center

Rudaki Foundation’s Art Training Cent­er inaugurated in February 2010 in 1000 square meters of land on the south side of Ferdowsi Hall and the time of its activities in the field of music and arts education for children and adults.

The Training Centre is active with four workshops: music and painting, music and visual arts training equipment, and a library with over 170 specialized books.

The center also has established a work­shop for children and young adults, art workshops for adults as well as a lobby for shopping and resting.

On the second floor of the training center, there are two art workshops for apprentices with traditional and classical instruments equipped with training facilities including classical and traditional instruments such as piano, setar of Zadkhalil, tar of Tavakol, guitar, professional tambour, kamancheh of Joudaki, santur, tombak of Helmi, ombak of •Siiirani, workshop violin, handmade violin, bass Xy­lophone, alto xylophone, soprano xylophone, small drums, tympani, alto metalophone, and soprano metalophone.

Music workshop due to the lack of special­ized places welcomes apprentices’ use of class­es and instruments free of charge at any time. Also, drawing and painting workshops 1 and 2 host apprentices and masters offering requiredinstruments such as canvas, tripod, full-length mirror, and many other training tools.

Specialized library has been established with more than 170 books on music, paint­ing, drawing, calligraphy, and art history. The library is going to be stuck with all available scholarly books on music and visual arts until (2011) 1390.

Establishment of School for Traditional and Ritual Performances

Establishing the school for traditional and ritual performances is one of the future pros­pects that this center.

The school is planned to hold workshops on and be active in training Iranian theatres such as Ta’ziyeh, Takht-e-Hozi, Kheymeh-Shab­Bazi (Iranian Puppet Theater), minstrelsy, Pardeh-Khani.

In the field of theory, classes will be held on historical overview of Iranian traditional and ritual plays, performance practices, music in drama, semiotics, identifying types of puppet shows in various regions of Iran, types of min­strelsies, and Shahnameh recitations with the respective masters in attendance.

There also will be held classes on acting, script writing, scene decoration, lighting, costume design, make-up, puppet making, improvisation, and mythology and ancient legends.
