Tehran Symphony Orchestra Performs “Vagouyeh-ha” / Works by Mendelssohn and Mohammad Reza Tafazzoli
In the final nights of autumn, the Tehran Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Nasir Heidarian, will present its latest concert titled “Vagouyeh-ha” (Inner Monologues), featuring works by Felix Mendelssohn and Mohammad Reza Tafazzoli, on 18 and 19 December at Vahdat Hall.
Roudaki Foundation: in this concert the Tehran Symphony Orchestra, with an approach that bridges the world’s classical music tradition and contemporary Iranian composition, will perform works by the prominent German composer Felix Mendelssohn and the renowned Iranian composer Mohammad Reza Tafazzoli.
In the first part of the program, the well-known piece “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” by Felix Mendelssohn will be performed—one of the most significant examples of Romantic music and a staple of the international symphonic repertoire.
This will be followed by Symphony No. 1, “Vagouyeh-ha,” by Mohammad Reza Tafazzoli, written in four movements and performed by the Tehran Symphony Orchestra. The work is regarded as one of the notable compositions of contemporary Iranian symphonic music, and its performance provides an opportunity to showcase the capabilities of Iranian composition within an orchestral framework.
The concert “Vagouyeh-ha,” performed by the Tehran Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Nasir Heidarian, will take place on Thursday and Friday, 18 and 19 December, starting at 9:30 p.m. at Vahdat Hall.
Tickets are available to interested audiences through the HonarTiket website.
