Workshop on “Defining the Role of the Conductor” to Be Held at Roudaki Hall

The Artistic Training Center of the Roudaki Foundation will hold an educational workshop titled “Defining the Role of the Orchestra Conductor,” taught by Nasir Heidarian, with the aim of enhancing the professional capabilities of students and practitioners in the field of music.

Roudaki Foundation: this workshop developed as part of the foundation’s academic and skill-building programs, has been designed to offer a clear and practical analysis of the conductor’s role within the professional structure of music. It is suitable for all interested participants across various ages and musical backgrounds. The course will outline the pathway to becoming a proficient orchestra conductor from an educational perspective, covering topics such as the importance of university studies, gaining experience alongside prominent conductors, understanding the key role of the répétiteur (accompanist), and acquiring practical skills under the supervision of a conductor.

Another section of the workshop will focus on essential concepts including the reciprocal relationship between the conductor and orchestra members, the psychology of interaction with musicians, and foundational to advanced conducting techniques. The main objective of this course is to provide an accurate understanding of the conductor’s duties, capabilities, and position within the professional music ecosystem.
