The Iranian Instruments Orchestra Opens with “Take a Path…” / An Evening to Hear the Legacy of Payvar
The first performance of the Iranian Instruments Orchestra of the Rudaki Foundation, titled “Take a Path…”, will be held on the evening of Tuesday, December 9, in commemoration of Master Faramarz Payvar.
Rudaki Foundation: this concert marks the official beginning of the orchestra’s activities and serves as the starting point for its future programs. In this performance, Ali Bahrami-Fard will appear as the guest director, and Mojtaba Asgari will join as the guest vocalist.
The call for forming the Iranian Instruments Orchestra was announced by the Foundation in August of this year, inviting musicians playing the qanun, tar, santur, kamancheh, oud, tombak, and ney to participate in the auditions. The practical auditions were held on August 16 and 17 in the presence of the Artistic Council. After evaluations, the selected musicians were chosen on September 9 to join the orchestra and subsequently began their rehearsals.
This concert, marking the orchestra’s first official stage appearance, will take place at 21:30 on Tuesday, December 9, at Vahdat Hall.
