Shahnameh Comes to Life at Vahdat Hall / “Rostamzad” with the National Orchestra of Iran

The National Orchestra of Iran, in its latest program titled “Rostamzad”, will perform under the composition and guest conducting of Amir Pourkhalaji for two nights at Vahdat Hall.

Rudaki Foundation: the National Orchestra of Iran, with Amir Pourkhalaji as composer and guest conductor, will present a new work titled “Rostamzad” on September 29 and 30 at 9:30 p.m. at Vahdat Hall.
This piece, written for string orchestra, unfolds in 16 musical scenes narrating some of the most significant stories of Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh. Its narrative begins with the birth of Zal and ends with the birth of Rostam, the legendary hero of Ferdowsi’s epic.
“Rostamzad” is an effort to connect orchestral music with classical Persian literature, offering a modern reflection of Ferdowsi’s enduring legacy in the realm of national music. The performance also provides audiences with an opportunity to engage with one of Iran’s oldest epic narratives from a fresh artistic perspective.
The “Rostamzad” concert by the National Orchestra of Iran will be held on September 29 and 30 at 9:30 p.m. at Vahdat Hall, and tickets can be purchased via the Honarticket platform.
