Tehran Symphony Orchestra Takes Vahdat Hall Back to October 1904

In its final summer performance, on Thursday and Friday evenings, September 11 and 12, the Tehran Symphony Orchestra staged the concert “October 1904” at Vahdat Hall under the baton of Nasir Heidarian, presenting a diverse repertoire.

Rudaki Foundation: this concert featured clarinet soloist Mineli Danelyan and included works by Gustav Mahler, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Robert Schumann.

The evening began with the “Adagietto from Symphony No. 5” by Gustav Mahler. It was followed by Mozart’s “Clarinet Concerto in A major”, one of his last completed compositions, a relatively lengthy piece performed with clarinet solo and warmly applauded by the audience.

After a short intermission, the orchestra continued with Robert Schumann’s first symphonic work, Symphony No. 1 in B-flat major, also known as the “Spring” Symphony.

Austrian composer Gustav Mahler wrote his Symphony No. 5 between 1901 and 1902. The symphony premiered in October 1904, which inspired the title of this concert.

Among the audience over the two nights were artists such as Masoud Kimiai, Abolhassan Davoudi, Javid Majlessi, Nasser Rahimi, Bahram Jamali, Mani Jafarzadeh, Paniz Faryousefi, Mohammad Ali Me’rati, Pouria Akhavas, Reza Asgarzadeh, and others.
