12,000 Audience in Rasht Welcomes Iran National Music Orchestra
The Iran National Music Orchestra, conducted by Homayoun Rahimian, took the stage on its opening night as part of the Second National Congress of Gilan Province’s 8,000 Martyrs.
Rudaki Foundation: on the evening of Friday, September 5, the city of Rasht hosted a unique performance: a national-patriotic concert attended by thousands of music enthusiasts, which was met with overwhelming public acclaim.
Nearly 12,000 people attended the performance, held in the open-air venue of the congress site. Featuring 50 musicians and the vocal talents of Mojtaba Asgari, Mohammad Rasoul Termeh, and Mohammadreza Safi, the orchestra performed a selection of romantic and patriotic pieces that deeply resonated with the audience.
The repertoire included: “Nagmeh Gar Eshgh” and “Chera Zendegi” composed by Ali Jafarian and arranged for orchestra by Homayoun Rahimian; “Bisheh-ye Shiran” by Homayoun Rahimian; “Iran-e Javan” composed by Professor Lemaire; the instrumental piece “Mirza Kuchak Khan” by Mohammad Mirzaman; “Sarvhaye Sarboland” by Gilan-born composer Mohammadreza Safarpour; and the enduring masterpiece “Khoosheh Chin” by Rouhollah Khaleghi. Each piece was warmly received by the audience.
The program concluded with “Ey Iran”, composed by Rouhollah Khaleghi and arranged by Golnoush Khaleghi, performed with the enthusiastic participation and choral accompaniment of the audience—bringing a memorable and uplifting close for the proud, art-loving people of Rasht.
This event was organized with the collaboration of the Rudaki Foundation and the Gilan Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance. The orchestra’s second performance is scheduled for Saturday, September 6, at 7:30 p.m. in Rasht Central Hall, welcoming all music lovers.
