From “Ey Karavan” to “Ey Iran” on the Special Night of the National Orchestra of Iran
In its latest performance, on the evening of Friday, August 8, the National Orchestra of Iran took to the stage of Vahdat Hall with the concert “Golgoon”, conducted by Homayoun Rahimian, presenting a selection of orchestral works with epic, religious, and national themes.
Roudaki Foundation: the National Orchestra of Iran filled Vahdat Hall with passion and emotion by performing memorable pieces from Iranian composers, featuring the vocals of Hossein Alishapour and Amir Hossein Samiei.
The first part of the program focused on works themed around martyrdom and self-sacrifice, including Karavan composed by Hasan Riahi with a poem by Saadi; Dar Owj-e Atash (At the Peak of Thirst) composed by Homayoun Rahimian with lyrics by Soheil Mahmoudi; and Dar Entezar (Waiting), with both music and lyrics by Aminollah Rashidi, orchestrated by Homayoun Rahimian—all performed by vocalist Hossein Alishapour.
In the next part, Amir Hossein Samiei performed Fasl ba Baran-e Ma (Our Rainy Season) with lyrics by Rumi and music by Homayoun Rahimian; Veda (Farewell), with melody and composition by Hamid Shahangian and orchestral adaptation by Homayoun Rahimian and poem by Soheil Mahmoudi; and Haft Posht-e Atash (Seven Generations of Thirst) with lyrics by Mohammad Ali Bahmani and music by Homayoun Rahimian.
Before the performance of Veda, Amir Hossein Samiei acknowledged the presence of Hamid Shahangian in Vahdat Hall, asking the audience to applaud him in recognition of his decades of artistic work in revolutionary and religious poetry and music.
The concert concluded with a rousing rendition of the patriotic anthem “Ey Iran”, joined by the audience in chorus, filling Vahdat Hall with a deep sense of national pride.
Among the officials and artists in attendance were: Mohammad Allahyari Foomni, CEO of the Roudaki Foundation; Mohammad Hossein Esmaeili, Director General of the Office for Artistic Planning and Education at the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance; Reza Mardani, Head of the Performing Arts Center at the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance; Amir Abbas Setayeshgar, Deputy for Artistic Creations at the Roudaki Foundation; composer Hamid Shahangian; actress Mahvash Vaghari; and others.
