“Falak-ol-Aflak” at Vahdat Hall / Tehran Symphony Orchestra’s Musical Narrative of Resistance

Following its performance of the Falak-ol-Aflak Symphony at the historic Falak-ol-Aflak Castle in Lorestan province, the Tehran Symphony Orchestra once again brought this symphony to the stage — this time under the baton of Nasir Heydarian at Vahdat Hall.

Roudaki Foundation: the Falak-ol-Aflak Symphony, composed by Kambiz Roshanravan, which was previously met with great enthusiasm by audiences and art lovers of Lorestan on the evening of Thursday, May 22, was performed again on Sunday, May 25 at Vahdat Hall to a warm reception from the audience.
The symphony is directly related to the eight-year Iran–Iraq war and presents a musical narrative of resistance.
Before the performance, a video message from composer and musician Kambiz Roshanravan was shown to the audience via the hall’s display screens.
Roshanravan has composed this work in four movements, delicately depicting the period from before the war to Iran’s final victory. The symphony also incorporates melodies from Luri music in certain sections. The composer regards Falak-ol-Aflak Castle as a symbol of resilience and endurance, which inspired the naming of the symphony.
The performance of Falak-ol-Aflak created a passionate and vibrant atmosphere at Vahdat Hall. Each part of the symphony was met with enthusiastic applause from the audience, eagerly anticipating the next movement.
Among the officials and artists present at the concert were:
Nadereh Rezaei, Deputy for Artistic Affairs at the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Niknam Hosseini-Pour, Head of the Public Relations and Information Center of the Ministry, Mohammad Allahyari Foomani, Director of the Roudaki Foundation, Babak Rezaei, Director General of the Music Office at the Ministry, Ali Akbar Shekarchi, Fazel Jamshidi, Masoud Karamati, Bahram Jamali, and others.
