The Birth of an Orchestra at the Seventh Edition of Tarz-e Tazeh / Mitra Youth Shine at Rudaki Hall
The first on-stage performance of the Mitra Youth Orchestra took place during the seventh edition of Tarz-e Tazeh on May 22 and 23 at Rudaki Hall.
Rudaki Foundation: the Mitra Youth Orchestra performed successfully over two nights with a combination of string, wind, and percussion instruments, under the baton of Mohammadreza Safavi.
The concert also featured violin soloist Shakiba Khosravi and viola soloist Pouyan Zadmajid, who accompanied the Mitra Orchestra.
This concert was held as part of the Rudaki Foundation’s Tarz-e Tazeh series.
In the first part of the concert, the following pieces were performed: Valse Triste by Jean Sibelius; Tico-Tico no Fubá by Brazilian composer Zequinha de Abreu, arranged by Kioumars Talebi; Dolly Suite, Lullaby No. 1 by Gabriel Fauré; Romance for Violin and Orchestra by Beethoven; and a folk melody composed by Aram Khachaturian and arranged by Kioumars Talebi.
The second part of the concert featured Elegy for String Instruments and Lensky’s Aria by Tchaikovsky, as well as the First Movement of Symphony No. 1 by Beethoven.
Musician Amin Ghaffari and composer Kioumars Talebi were among the special guests attending the performance.
“Tarz-e Tazeh” is the title of a project in which the Rudaki Foundation for Culture and Arts provides special support for the ideas of music groups in various styles, including Radif-Dastgahi, regional (folk) music, and Western classical music.
Previously, concerts such as ‘Trio + One’ at Vahdat Hall, ‘Nanshinad Khamoosh’ performed by the Hamnavazan Vedad Ensemble at Roudaki Hall, as well as ‘Chahargan’ at Roudaki Hall, ‘Naghamat-e Nagahan’ performed by Hossein Alishapour and Maziar Shahi at Vahdat Hall, ‘Nivak Ensemble’ at Roudaki Hall ,and ‘ Dialogue Orchestra’ conducted by Paniz Faryousefi at Vahdat Hall, have been held under this project and have been well received by the audience.
