The Resonance of Iranian Orchestras Across the Country

Mohammad Allahyari Foumni, Director of the Rudaki Cultural and Artistic Foundation, made remarks on the sidelines of the performance by the Tehran Symphony Orchestra at the historic Falak-ol-Aflak Castle, which took place on the evening of Thursday, May 22.

He stated: “We are very pleased that the beautiful work by Master Kambiz Roshanravan, coinciding with the anniversary of the Khorramshahr Epic and due to its naming connection with the global registration of the Falak-ol-Aflak Castle, came together as a fortuitous event and was performed on its appropriate date (May 22).

“This was made possible through the efforts of the Tehran Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Mr. Nasir Heidarian and the cooperation of dear colleagues in Lorestan Province—specifically in the Governor’s Office, the Municipality, and the Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance. This orchestral concert came to life thanks to their combined support.”

He went on to add:
“Our program and policy at the Rudaki Foundation is to have the Tehran Symphony Orchestra and the National Orchestra of Iran perform significant works on national occasions, bringing these valuable pieces to the provinces, just as we witnessed tonight with the performance of the Falak-ol-Aflak Symphony. This program reflects the vast and subtle cultural and artistic richness of Lorestan Province. Last year, we had a similar experience in Mazandaran Province, and I hope we can expand and replicate this in other provinces. This will serve both as a motivation for the orchestra’s musicians and as a tribute to the cultural appreciation of the dear people of Iran.”

Regarding the focus on Iran’s ethnic music traditions and the involvement of the Rudaki Foundation’s orchestras, the Foundation’s Director stated:
“My colleagues in the Artistic Creation Division of the Foundation have made plans in this regard. It is even anticipated that, if possible, this October the National Orchestra will perform in several provinces, culminating in a final concert at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall. As mentioned earlier, this interest has been observed both among the orchestra’s musicians and in the provinces themselves, and I hope this fruitful connection can soon take place.”
