Details of Audience Survey on Orchestras Announced / Rudaki Foundation Seeks to Improve Orchestra Quality

Rudaki Foundation has announced the details of audience surveys conducted on orchestras in 1403 (2024-2025).

Rudaki Foundatio: in an ongoing effort to enhance the quality of performances by the Tehran Symphony Orchestra and the National Orchestra of Iran, as well as to increase audience satisfaction, the foundation has conducted surveys among concert attendees since the second half of this year.
A total of seven orchestral events were surveyed, including four performances by the National Orchestra of Iran including Paikoubi” (Celebration), “Bar Chehreh Labkhand” (A Smile on the Face), “Sholeh Daram Bar Zaban” (I Have a Flame on My Tongue), and “Be Estaghbal Bahar” (Welcoming Spring)—and three performances by the Tehran Symphony Orchestra—”Tehran, An Endless Celebration,” “Lands of Snow,” and “Iranian March.”
In these surveys, audiences evaluated performances based on execution quality, selection of pieces, pre-event promotions, service quality, guidance by ushers, lighting and sound quality, and overall organization.
A total of 330 individuals participated in the surveys, with 197 respondents providing feedback on the Tehran Symphony Orchestra and 133 on the National Orchestra of Iran.
Key audience suggestions included increasing the number of orchestra performances, diversifying musical selections, incorporating more regional and ethnic music in National Orchestra performances, and enabling online sales of concert video recordings.
Additionally, attendees emphasized the need for earlier venue access before performances, improved event notifications via SMS, better sound engineering in concert halls, displaying conductor and musician activities on screens during performances, enhancing audience musical appreciation, regulating photographer movements to minimize distractions, and expanding parking facilities to improve the overall concert experience.
Rudaki Foundation will integrate audience feedback to refine future orchestra events, making better-informed decisions regarding content, performance structure, scheduling, and other key aspects of orchestral programming.
