Rudaki Foundation: Mohammad Alahyari Foomani’s message, states:
“There is no treasure greater than culture. If you can, seek no other treasure but culture.”
The 4th of Dey (December 24th) is a day to honor a distinguished poet who, due to his innovations in poetry, is known as the father of Persian poetry.
Abu Abdullah Jafar ibn Muhammad ibn Hakim ibn Abdulrahman ibn Adam, known as Rudaki of Samarkand, captivated the hearts of lovers and enthusiasts of Persian art and literature with his poems and odes. He was one of the most renowned poets and musicians of his era. For centuries, his compositions, including his poetic adaptations of “Kalila & Demna” and “Sindbad-nameh”, have remained beloved among Persian speakers and admirers of Persian culture.
Naming this foundation after “Rudaki” places a great responsibility on our shoulders to make every effort in preserving and promoting sublime art across various domains. It is our duty to honor great figures like Rudaki, who devoted their lives to this noble cause.
Today, the Rudaki Foundation, alongside lovers of Persian poetry and literature, commemorates the 4th of Dey (December, 24th) Rudaki Commemoration Day.
