The puppet opera “Mowlavi” returns to Ferdowsi Hall.
The puppet opera “Mowlavi,” written, designed, and directed by Behrouz Gharibpour, is set to return to the stage at Ferdowsi Hall after a five-year hiatus.
Roudaki Foundation: “Mowlavi” is the third production of the Aran Puppet Theater Group, designed and directed by Behrouz Gharibpour. It was first performed in February 2009 and most recently in 2019 at Ferdowsi Hall. This opera has also been performed internationally at the 28th Fajr International Theater Festival, in Shiraz, as well as in countries like Italy and the United Arab Emirates.
The opera’s music was composed by Behzad Abdi, with conductor Vladimir Sirenko leading the National Orchestra of Ukraine.
The main vocalists include Homayoun Shajarian as Shams and Mohammad Motamedi as Mowlavi.
The puppet opera “Mowlavi,” written, designed, and directed by Behrouz Gharibpour and produced by the Roudaki Foundation and the Aran Puppet Theater Group, will be staged at Ferdowsi Hall starting November 12. Tickets are available on the Tiwall website.
