Tehran Symphony Orchestra to Perform “Falak-ol-Aflak Symphony”
The Tehran Symphony Orchestra, under the leadership of Nasir Heydarian, will perform the “Falak-ol-Aflak Symphony” on two occasions: May 22nd in Khorramabad and May 25th in Tehran.
Rudaki Foundation: the piece will be performed for the first time by the Tehran Symphony Orchestra at the historic Falak-ol-Aflak Castle in Lorestan Province on May 22.
Following this premiere, the symphony will be performed at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall on May 25.
Composed in 1998 (1377 in the Iranian calendar) by Kambiz Roshanravan, the “Falak-ol-Aflak Symphony” is a heroic four-movement work inspired by the Iran-Iraq war (referred to as the Sacred Defense in Iran). As part of a memorandum of understanding signed last year between the Rudaki Foundation, Lorestan’s Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance, and the Khorramabad Municipality, the performance in the historic castle will coincide with National Lorestan Day.
Accordingly, under the direction of Nasir Heydarian, the Tehran Symphony Orchestra will perform this symphony on Thursday, May 22, at Falak-ol-Aflak Castle, and again on Sunday, May 25, at 9:30 PM at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall.
Those interested in attending the Tehran performance can purchase tickets via the Honarticket website.
